This is a proposal for a site located in Minburi, Northeast of the city of Bangkok,Thailand.
The site challenges the changes mega cities will have to overcome, especially for Bangkok as the city is at threat of being underwater by 2040. A city of 15 million is victim of not only sea levels rising but also human factors like urban pollution, construction boom, poverty and food production.
The site will focus on sustainable farming, as the area is known for agriculture and also looks at creating affordable housing, as well as creating a retention pond for the area when there are localised flooding.
The site was specifically chosen as it will have the orange and pink mass transit lines (BTS) by 2024. This will enable people to travel to Downtown Bangkok, without using their cars - which in turn will help bring quicker commuting times as well as reduce vehicular pollution - that contributes high levels of PM2.5 annually in the city.
